Selling on Facebook using Global Payments Social Commerce

Many brands have utilised the power and engagement capabilities of Facebook to drive sales and awareness.

As well as being a wonderful platform for keeping in touch with friends and relatives, many companies have found it a powerful tool to sell from due to its unique ability to target people’s interests and needs.

So how can you get set up and take advantage? Well that’s easy. Just read the guide below that we’ve put together for you.

  • 1. Setting up your Facebook Business Page.

    To set up a Facebook Shop you need to first set up a page for your business. This is different to your personal page.


    To do this, go to the menu from your personal account and find the tab that says: ‘create page’.


    You’ll then be asked to select what type of page you want to create. You’ll need to select the option for ‘Business or Brand’.


    Once you’ve done this, simply work through the options to add a description, pictures and location etc as instructed.


  • 2. Now you’ve created your page, configure it for selling.


    To set your page for selling just go into the ‘settings’ section and then into the ‘templates and tabs’ bit of that. Simply scroll down and add the ‘shop’ section of that tab.



    Now when you go back to your page you will be instructed to add further information such as the currency you’d like to sell in.



    Please note: To sell through Facebook you must click on the ‘Check out on another website’ option.


  • 3. Once you’ve done this you can then begin to add the products that you would like to sell.


    From here you can now fill in the fields you need to enable you to add your product to the selling page.


    Please note: make sure that you use the checkout URL in the description of the ad generated with Global Payments Social Commerce.


    You can now link your shop to social accounts, by clicking ‘share collection’ to enable you to sell there too!
